Kathy Feeney is Selling Her House

January 29, 2012

The time has come to sell the old homestead and move on with the next chapter(s) of my life, funny how ones needs change over time. I originally bought my house because of the…

  1. Large flat backyard that could accommodate a swing set, shed, garden and still have enough room to run around.
  2. Flat driveway that could fit more than 2 cars and was easy to plow.
  3. Quiet Street – so the kids could play out front.
  4. Finished play room in the basement- large enough to store all the toys (and a place to play when it was raining outside)!
  5. Large Deck and a Patio to BBQ
  6. Reasonable Taxes and School District

As I look around I realize that the house just doesn’t fit my needs anymore. I find myself questioning all the unused space. My kid doesn’t use the basement or play outside anymore (she barely leaves her room – teenager so I guess I should count my blessings). The back yard suddenly seems too big. I have an unused extra bedroom that has become one big walk-in closet and the list goes on and on. After some soul-searching I have concluded that the best thing to do would be to downsize and get something that fits my current needs. It will be hard to leave this house with all the memories but also because I did a lot of work on the house (replaced the furnace, hot water heater, appliances and installed central air with all energy-efficient models – new roof, driveway, and ….) whoever buys this house will be getting a solid efficient home.

So now I will embark on the search for my new home. I am looking for a small manageable home in the Kisco area. So if you are in the market for a house – give me a call!

It was a pleasure living across the street from you and your family while we lived in Mt. Kisco. Remember the time I couldn’t find Flora, and you all came out with flashlights to help me look? I really appreciated that. She was hiding under a bush, but it’s pretty hard to see a black cat as it’s getting dark if the cat wants to hide.

I hope you find what you want in your house-search…best of luck to all of you.
