Three Things You Should Do Before You Put Your House on the
Market That Won’t Cost You a Penny
1 . Clean- Make sure you give the house a through cleaning. Don’t forget about the windows and make sure you move furniture to get rid of all the dust bunnies. Potential buyers won’t look under your sofa but the accumulation of dust and lint will contribute to odors. Also, don’t use Bleach unless you have time to properly air out the house before buyers arrive. The smell of Bleach is often associated with Mold. You don’t want to give the impression you are trying to cover up a potential problem.
2 . De-Clutter – Get rid of all non-essential stuff including furniture, small appliances on the kitchen counter and clean out overflowing closets. The yard and patio should be clutter free also.
3 . De-Personalize – Put away all family photos, religious and school items. Let’s not forget to clean off the magnets on the refrigerator and put away the monthly calendar with all the kids’ appointments on it.
