I love a Good Bargain
Who doesn’t love a good bargain? Today was one of those days that started out rocky but ended up with a little surprise. I had to do some mundane chores like grocery shopping and laundry. I really hate to shop but I needed stuff for lunch for the upcoming week so off I went. Target was my first stop since it had some of the items I needed on sale. While I was there I thought I would check out their space heaters. I like to use a space heater in the winter to heat up the bathroom on particularly cold days. It is a good way to stay toasty warm and not waste energy by turning the thermostat up and heating the whole house. My current space heater has seen better days and wasn’t very efficient. Today they make some great ceramic models that are energy-efficient and easy on the pocketbook.I knew I needed a new heater so I thought I would see what they had in stock. Most of them were a bit pricey so I figured I would wait until they went on sale. I saw one that didn’t have a price on it but the shelf tag said $9.99. There must be some kind of mistake I thought – no way could this heater be only $9.99. I checked the model # and the bar code numbers – they all matched with the shelf tag – ‘great’ I thought I found myself a new Ceramic Heater. Off to the check-out I went. I was feeling ‘Pretty, pretty good’ (as Larry David would say) until the darn heater wrang up at a whopping $39.99! WHAT – this can’t be – the tag said $9.99 – I knew it was too good to be true! But that is when my surprise kicked in. The cashier called the manger and I showed her the tag. Sure enough I was right – the tag was wrong – The heater was $39.99 but they had to give it to me for $9.99. Way to go Target – good customer service today – no hassles just making it right.
I will enjoy using this heater even more now knowing how much I saved. I have to give Target two thumbs up for my hassle free ‘price challenge’.
