Learned Something New
One of the great things about writing this blog is that I learn new things about Kisco every day.
Case in point, I was contacted by a resident that read the article about me in the Examiner this past week. She wanted me to know about something she considers a “gem” in Kisco it is a 12 Step Program for Teens that is run by Teens called Alateen.
This is a program for kids who have been affected by someone else’s drinking. Living with the chaos and drama of Alcoholism often creates fear, tension, shame, resentment and despair. It is a safe place for kids to meet and work out how to be happy whether the Alcoholic is drinking or not.
It is completely volunteer run (the meetings are run by Al-anon members who have undergone rigorous training and background checks). If you or someone you know are an AA or Al-anon member, why not bring your kids to recovery too. http://www.al-anon.alateen.org/
If you’re a Teen why not just drop by and check them out – it is completely confidential. The meetings are:
Wednesdays 6:30pm- at Lexington Center for Recovery 24 Smith Ave
Thursdays 7:00 pm St Marks Church
