April Showers Bring Mold

The spring real Estate market has been a very busy one .I have shown many homes in the past few weeks and a re-occurring theme has been a moldy musty basement smell. Due to the unusually wet weather many basements have been flooded.

Some folks tried to kill the odor themselves by using bleach, but the chemicals in bleach can be as harmful as the mold itself. If you have a serious mold problem do yourself a favor and hire a professional.

     If you have a small problem , like I had with a leaky pipe that I had repaired, why not try this little tip that my friend told me about. Use a little Grapefruit Seed Extract. You can purchase it online or in a health food store. I was amazed at how well it worked and absolutely NO odor. I had used white Vinegar in the past but the smell lingered for days and made me hungry for a salad. Any time you can use something natural I am all for it.
