Souper Bowl of Caring
Youth Group Collects for the Interfaith Food Pantry
The Youth Group from the Mt Kisco Methodist Church collected food and money on Super Bowl Sunday to help the Interfaith Food Pantry. The kids set up a table outside of Shop Rite supermarket in Bedford Hills. Their sign read “Souper Bowl of Caring” and they had a large soup pot handy to collect donations – and collect they did. At the end of the day the group collected $360.00 dollars and over 30 bags of groceries.
Ross Porter who organized this event said he was proud of all the work the kids did and he was very pleased that they stuck with it. The group started to collect donations earlier in the day during their Sunday worship service and then headed out to the supermarket. Porter said he was pleased with the generosity of the community.
The kids that participated in the event were:
Michelle Anderson, Krista Gaffney, Coryn Porter, Clair Rosenkilde, Adam Tidmus and Henry Williams.
