Andrew Cuomo, Robert Duffy – Modest Inauguration

December 17, 2010

Guest Post by: MariaColaco

This morning, Mount Kisco Resident- Gov. Elect Andrew Cuomo announced that his inauguration on January 1 will be small and modest. He said, ” this is not a time for the grand expensive celebrations of the recent past”.

Andrew Cuomo and Lt. Gov, Robert Duffy  have opted for a private swearing in at the governors mansion on New Years Eve followed by a small ceremony at the state capitol at noon on New Year’s Day.

Instead of the opulant inauguration events of the past , Cuomo said that instead of a grand celebration, “It is the time to return dignity, integrity, and performance to state government and begin making real progress for the people of this great state. That means we go to work on the very first day with a focus on renewing New Yorkers’ faith in government.” – he continues that he will  “commence a new era of openness in government, bringing people back to participate in state government once again.”

This comes from the same person who said the Mount Kisco diner is his favorite Westchester restaurant. So I will give him a chance and  believe his words… don’t let me down Gov. Elect Cuomo!
